How to import ICS in Google Calendar

Use Google Calendar’s desktop import tool, or add events to a Google calendar connected to your iPhone.

Quick answer

On desktop, open Google Calendar Settings → Import & export, select the `.ics` file and target calendar, then click Import.

Import ICS using Google Calendar on the web

  1. Open Google Calendar in a desktop browser.

Sign in to the account that owns the target calendar.

  2. Open Settings.

Choose Import & export from the settings menu.

  3. Select the ICS file.

Choose the downloaded `.ics` file and the Google calendar that should receive it.

  4. Import and check.

Confirm the import, then review several events for the correct date and time zone.

Add an ICS file to Google Calendar from iPhone

The Google Calendar iPhone app does not provide the same file-upload screen as desktop. If your Google account is connected to iOS Calendar, save the ICS file to Files, open it in ICSKit, choose the synced Google calendar and add the events.

Will imported events sync?

Yes. Once the events are stored in a Google calendar, they sync to devices signed in to that account. A file import is still a one-time copy: changes to the original file do not update the imported events automatically.

Import from your iPhone

Use ICSKit to review the file and add it to a Google calendar already connected to iOS.
